Heart Shaped... Dress-thing
(Music: Heart Shaped Glasses // acoustic version - Marilyn Manson)
Yep, gotta sew this one some when. Right now I'm finishing my sheer black skirt (need it for tomorrows - well, todays - party) but that's the next project.
I'd call it a 60's inspired Gothic look that Taylor Mommsen would wear. The heart would be the perfect occasion to use the last tiny remains of black chiffon I've got. I still don't know what I'd use for the rest of the dress. I'll get inspired searching for fabrics. Too sad I don't have any red boots, but black ones will do the look too ^_-
. Close up :D .

It's done, it's done :D
(In Flames - Deliver Us // a little obsessed now, cause maybe - well, not only maybe - I'll go to their concert :D)
Sorry I didn't have the time for posting yesterday... too tired. I'm still not really well, but I had to work. Hm, work... walking two hours around in the city in a funny costume handing out programmes for the theater wasn't really work, but funny. It was the same costume I wore last time and people again thought I was Capt'n Jack Sparrow ^^
And after that I was in another city nearby spending hours in the city and shopping centre because I had to waste time 'till my dog's hair got cut. Poodle... No choice.
But I've bought a romper (my very first one!) and a skirt on sale there. Photos tomorrow!
Anyway, now, the blue tunic/dress I've drawn some-when is finally finished! Very finished. No spot that doesn't fall well anymore. Proud of myself.
Oh and I've drawn down how I want to decorate a white hat... if I find one that's good enough and cheap :D The ones I saw at H&M were to flabby, another one's brim not broad enough. Nw... not easy to find the perfect hat for this :D
The plan is decorating it with a lace ribbon (light grey or something) and adding flowers on one side, but the interesting part is that I wanna glue only a few petals on the brim and on the inner brim to create an effect like in my drawing.
| don't look at the stuff in the background. I was bored :D |
Oh and I didn't introduce you to my new model: Sisi! That's the bonus I've got for my burda-sub, just about 3 months later...

The Purple Shift
Just a tiny night-post, because I'm really tired and it's almost 3 in the morning.
My grannies at least went home today. We drove them to the airport early in the morning and they are now home in Timisoara.
Yesssssss, I don't have to hide the sewing machine and my already cut minidress anymore in fear my granny could sew it.
I may have already written that a friend of my aunt and parents gifted me some fabric through my granny. A purple satin-like fabric, a little more solid than satin, I guess it's polyamide and a very tiny piece of purple chiffon/tulle with beaded embroidery. The thing you saw often in the 80s and early 90s on dresses. As there's barely a yard of that fabric I can't cover a dress made of the other purple fabric. Though it would have looked so pretty, both one upon the other. So I thought of a low-cut back shift dress with double cap sleeves to make it a little girlish. The low back should be covered with the chiffon/tulle stuff, and the rest depends on how much fabric there will be left. I'll add a little of it at the décolleté for sure, I'll try how the sleeves would work with the embroidered fabric and if there's much left I'll sew that fabric on the hemline too.
Well, that's the theory, I'm curious for the dress. But first I'm gonna finish the other dress. Just have to sew everything together next week.
Tomorrow won't be time for that, because I've got a show again and I've bought an old davenport. I've gotta repair a broken edge and a door tomorrow, it needs a proper polishing, then it'll look like a new one! Pics tomorrow as soon as it is done :D
Oh and here a sketch of the purple dress:
About my tattoo... I wanna add a stitched paragraph sign at the end of the thread too. As a seam. That would be the perfect combination. Not law&order but law&sewing ^_^

Two more ideas
By the way, I still have more ideas. I'm so into 50's now ^_^ I still need an outfit with stripes and the outfits for the guys, but I thought we'll simply take some dark slacks, vests maybe, polos in pink (pink rage :D) and shirts. And of course: hats! Same goes for women-accessories: scarf worn as head-scarves á la BB. And of course light gloves (we play in July, so it's gonna be hot enough).
Here are two more drafts I made:
Too bad we don't have much money to spend for costumes, so I'll have to watch out for cheap fabric or things I can alter simply. Our teacher already warned me to think of that little problem :D
No photos of myself, though I want to show you my coats. The weather here is too bad to take photos outside - it's raining - and my flat's like a mess. Hope tomorrow the weather will be better! Though I'll don't have time tomorrow, because we're gonna have another guest performance. Will be late again. And I'm so f... tired -.-'

First drafts
Sorry for being such a lazy blogger these days, there was much going on. Yesterday a stupid guest performance (well, it was quite funny though we came home so late that I couldn't get up for school this morning), today a very long day, Saturday shopping (got two coats and fabric 'em tomorrow!) and musical-group, school, yeah, no time for posting.
But: I was drawing at the bus yesterday when we came home at night.
The first basic ideas, I don't want to make everything too complicated because I know we won't have time in the end to sew so much. But... I'll make some drafts with more ruffles and stuff too :D
Here are the first ones - I know I suck at drawing and colorizing, but I hope you'll get the idea.
And I know now that some of our guys will wear polos, others only chemises and the earnest and old ones suit. Simple, isn't it? But with hats of course!
More soon ;)
