Dead Sunday

(music: The Sisters of Mercy - Lucretia, My Reflection) // so stupidly 80s... ^^

Another outfit post, but it's so funny that I got into the Chictopia Style Gallery with this outfit and the one of my last post. Freaky. Twice in a row. Excuse the poor quality of the photos, the lightning in the house is horrible at night and it was very late when I took them. The outfit looks like a long dress with a corset, but in fact it's a short dress (thanks Lotte [^_-]* how great I'm shorter than you are xD) with a long DIY sheer skirt I made that day. And then the corset. Layering. I haven't layered my outfit that heavily for years. Even if it doesn't look that layered. Well, you may remember a draft I've posted a few months ago? That's the outfit. More or less. I decided against attaching different sleeves to the original dress. It would have been a little to much. I've wanted to keep this clean and simple. The occasion was going to a club by the way. Some gothic club. But honestly... goths in a tiny town in Bavaria... Maybe it seems to me that way 'cause I'm still new here. Enough writing, here are the photos:

Tomorrow a haul is up. Promise. 'cause I'll get the most pretty hat ever. Saw it in this vintage shop I already wrote about. I reserved it until Friday so I can bargain with the shop owner about the hat, she wasn't there when I tried the hat. And I also have other pieces to show. Ya ya. I also have to get the hoodie I'll get from this bar-hopping thing. You've got a booklet and you gotta get stamps from the participating bars/restaurants, when you've got them all you get the official bar-hopping hoodie from 2011. I hope they still have a few... But I was too lazy to get there tonight and forgot about it the whole week. Wish me luck. Also I'm planning to bake a little tomorrow evening. Muffin time! I'm not doing Christmas cookies. Not yet. Just at home with mom :D I'm gonna skip the last week of lectures to get home earlier. Well, three days of lecturing. But I still have a remorse because of it. Tho' I don't think I'll miss much. Hm, however, gotta do some homework now. I've also wanted to sew again this weekend. Maybe a fur jacket. I'm trying to get rid of all my leftovers right now. The skirt in the picture was also made of leftovers I got from the prom skirt I was sewing. I had so much chiffon, really crazy. But that's why it's just a half circular skirt. What doesn't look bad I guess. It makes a smaller silhouette than a long full circular skirt. However, have a great weekend, my fellow readers ;) And bake some cookies. I'll still get cake from my Polish roommate for correcting her work. Hrr hrr, it's time for cake (without sodomy. Why the hell am I always thinking of Marilyn Manson songs? Naw.) I should end this post, I'm getting weird thoughts.

Oh, yes, just one last advertisement-sentence: I've got Tumblr now! (So odd that so many people I know have Tumblr, I didn't know that before I made my account there.) So, take a look if you like. It's full of randomness. As Tumblr-Blogs are in general.

Lonely, Cryin', Only? - Not really.

Hey there,
special post for curious Charlotte ;D
I'm showing my new room. Room's the correct word for it, 'cause it is just a 30m² room. Without its own bath. A disaster for me! But I'll survive at least one semester. I'm sure. Because my room itself will look good soon.
First off, how it looked in its rawness:
desperately in need of a new chair (and by the way, I HATE yellow!)

but I somehow like the dark brown metal furniture

the door needs a new painting!

the bed looks... well.. I need a second mattress.

wardrobe inside, it's enough space for most of my stuff, I could barely imagine that

after hours of trying to bring the pieces together... here stands my new cupboard! (not even half-filled)

even the bed looks better now, plus that I've bought a new lamp (golden 'cause it will match my golden mirror :D)

and the sketch of the dress I plan to sew. I'm such a stupid copy-cat, but I was falling so in love with this gothic layering look. As I told I've already got a dress for underneath (thx Lotta!) so I'll just sew a circular chiffon skirt. Then I'll see how much chiffon's left for doing something else. But that's the idea.

Though I don't think I'll get much time for sewing until Friday, because I'll spend my time at decoration- and furniture-shops. I still don't know whether I should take my sewing-machine with me. It will distract me so much from studying... and I still don't know which guitar I should take with me. And whether I should take my keyboard with me or not. I'm still so undecided.

Oh and comment to my song-pick: I've got a crush on Therapy? lately. Maybe because I've just found an old album again. And maybe it was now exactly this song that stuck in my head 'cause it's uptempo though it is a really sad song. Can't get it out of my head for some reason.
Check out the video if you've liked the song: strange, surrealistic, black-and-white.

A mouse on the keys and a bullet in my heart

Music by Mouse on the Keys, a Japanese jazz-whatever-I-dunno-how-to-describe - band. Heard about them from a guy that is also in my year at college, he really has a nice taste in music. Yes, I'm not only listening to rock, metal and such. Variety is the key :D And I think this band should become more popular. Statement made, let's change topic.

Well, I'm still searching for something to buy. Honestly, these boots from last post look funny, but I don't know if I'd wear them. Even at muddy festivals where I could need 'em.
So I was falling in love with these pumps:
by Moma, 270€, so freaking awesome.
But sadly... not my size. And way... I mean WAY (!) too expensive. Yep, I need to get rich. Material girl. I should rename my blog ^^

by Mai Piu Senza, 90€
90€ is still expensive, but hey, I need to invest in key-pieces. Still... I guess I'll need money for my new room. And I've gotta decide 'til tonight, 'cause I'm on the road tomorrow at 6 o'clock in the morning. And Friday's my last day for the coupon.  Hm.

My next post will be sent from my old "home" again on Monday or Tuesday because I'm driving back home again with my parents for the rest of next week until next Friday/Saturday. The orientation week is starting only on 10th Octobre and I don't think I can get all the stuff I want to bring with me in two cars. I could, no, but I don't know exactly how big my room is. If I could find I place I want to bring my sewing machine, at least one guitar and my keyboard with me. But if the room's even tinier than my one at my parent's flat, there won't be any space for it.

I've wanted to show off one idea I've got quickly, I'm running out of time, still need to pack so many things. I saw this one at Chictopia:
via Chictopia by Naz_Isik (OhTheSavoirFaire.com)
I've got a nice LBD by Charlotte (hey at this point!), it has got a lacy pattern, thin straps and a shape almost like the H&M dress above, just longer (kneelength, almost). The lady above just wore a chiffon skirt over the dress, which is simple, but very stylish and special. As I've got loads of black chiffon left from my prom-skirt I'm gonna sew a chiffon skirt for my LBD and add some chiffon on the top of the dress too. Hm. Gotta have to sketch it :D Good thing I've got free time and a sewing machine next week!

Paisley, Blood and Flat Shoes

Hey there,

I won't even apologize anymore for not blogging... college gets on my goat. Really. Just got my student-ID stuff and all passwords for logging in on Saturday, I've spent the whole weekend with stud.ip (a program to log in for courses at college, we also call it stup.id now. yes, even law-students are funny sometimes), finding out which courses I have to take and with filling out my application for Bafög, a repayable state grant, which catches the meaning most... Geez, I almost had a nervous breakdown meanwhile. And there also are so many other things to organize, for example moving out, there's already a facebook-group for us first-semesters, so I already have the chance to know some people when I arrive. 700 new law-students! That's huge for such a tiny university. I'm already so excited about everything that I need to detract myself from everything. With sewing and playing guitar.

I've already painted the shirt I cropped and resew, it got really bloody, guess it's just wearable on Halloween or concerts...
front

bloody back. maybe I'll add another bloodstain there.

And here's another thing I began to sew. The skirt I was drafting and posting some-when, out of remaining fabric I've found. It's not completely decorated yet. But already wearable.

Kitsch and lace-hearts. Totally Ama-Lolita. But I like it somehow. The contrast is better in original, because the fabric's a little darker.

what I wanna add are these lace-stripes. Will take some time.

also made the belt on my own. Simple elastic sewn on a metal-buckle for these kind of stretch-belts.

and here we come to the things I was shopping in Spain. These shoes here. I know, they are flat. Fucking flat. But comfortable as hell. The only bad thing about 'em is that one shoe was exposed, the other not. So one is already quite worn out, the other still a little tight on my foot.

my cheap on-sale silk-blouse! the pattern looks surprisingly nice on me. Tucked in it even creates a beautiful shape. Not tight, nicely loose, but still shows the waistline.

what I love most about the blouse are the details. Hidden button-tab and another matching fabric on the inside.
Also if anyone's reading this, sorry I don't comment on other blogs right now. So busy... but I'm sure it'll get better as soon as college's starting and everything's bought, done and clear to me.

Have a nice week!

Shoppingfinds, reconstruction and the matter of colour

New post, new post!
Geez, I don't know what I'm doing with all my time, but at the end of the day there's nothing left of it and I didn't do everything I wanted.
Tempus fugit. Ha ha, nine years of Latin and I can write that. See, it wasn't a waste of time.

Well, I just wanted to show you the last stuff I've bought. I still need to post the awesome silk blouse I bought in Spain, but it still needs some hand-washing. Time is running out. At least I can wear that in autumn too. The stuff I bought recently is from H&M, it's so strange I've found something there... I'm so bored by the clothes I see right now. Hope the autumn collections aren't just not fully in the stores...

sorry for the stupid flash, but at least the details are visible. The chiffon part goes quite deep, so I'll wear something underneath. Just when I want to provoke... 40€

my very first denim-blouse! I was searching for a long time, but now I've found the perfect one. 25€
And best thing 'bout it: The two pieces even look good together! It's a way I can wear that party dress even at a not so formal occasion.

Next thing up: The reconstruction of a T-shirt I got from my school theatre-group as a gift. It was a normal shirt in size M, not a girly shirt, with just the plain text on it (one of the better gags of our last show, for the non-german speakers, it's a persiflage to the "Get thee to a nunn'ry" sentence from Hamlet. The character in our play saying this can't spell the letter L and says N instead).
Well, 'cause I wouldn't wear it that way and because I was bored, I sewed it smaller, cut the neckline and sewed the leftovers on the border of the shirt. Now I've got a shirt-dress :D
It just needs some decoration. I'm thinking of some red splatters, but maybe some cutouts with black chiffon and safety-pins could make a nice effect too. I'll see. Monday I'm gonna take a look at the local art-store, maybe I find some matching textile paint.
However, that's how it looks now:
and by the way: It really looks better on me :D
I've already wanted to show off my new hair-colour... I just hadn't got the time to upload the pictures. Now my hair got a little lighter, it's not that intense anymore, but still more red than blond.
Now it's more like that....

freshly dyed it was more like that. Ignore the stupid face.

So, have a nice weekend! Tomorrow I'll go to a medieval pageant and I've got nothing to wear! Desperately need to sew some medieval-style clothes. But for a first try I maybe buy something there, so I can copy the cut ^^

Lady Of The Flowers

Hey there guys,
I've spent the last few days with dark thoughts about my future (main subject of these thoughts: All law-students are assholes says the cliché, I'm gonna be a law-student, so am I an asshole too? Or am I gonna be depressed by all this "assholeness" there? Will I drop out? Will I get a manic depression? Should I study costume design and follow my dreams? Or should I stay realistic? 'cause it's really hard to get a job as a designer. Well, and so on... dark thoughts of being unemployed aren't nice.).
But I've spent yesterday with gluing and sewing my hat.

That's how it looks now:

I'm not a hundred percent fine with it. It's too floppy. I need to stiffen the edge with a wire or something, sadly I hadn't got enough. Second: I don't like how the braid turned out. It was normal satin braid. Third: I don't like the lace. Too blue. I wanted one with the same shade of gray as the border-braid. But do you think I've found a gray one in the whole f...ing city? Well, somehow it matches the colours of the flowers though. Maybe I just redo the border with a pale blue braid. Somewhen. For holidays it's okay that way.

For how I did everything...
first I ironed the gray braid so it's got a knit in the middle and a slight curve. Then I sewed it on the border of the hat, so that the braid added one centimeter to the broadness.

Second step was the lace, just sewed it together on the back of the hat and made a ribbon, that way I covered the weird way I had to finish sewing the braid.

Third, I sewed the flowers. With transparent thread. And I pierced myself with the needle a few times.

Last step was gluing the petals. And my fingers.

The hat is a little fancy but not as weird as some royal hats :D

Btw., I'm flying off to Spain on Saturday morning. Hope I'll get Internet-connection there so I still can blog.

Have a nice week!

The latest hat fashion?

Haha, sorry, had to be this tune :D

Well, somehow even I heard about the wedding of Zara Phillips (the Queen's granddaughter) and Mike Tindall (Rugbyplayer with broken nose - 9 times broken? Correct me if I'm wrong). Weddings of the royals normally don't interest me. And the wedding kiss wasn't that impassioned too. Nothing compared to Kate Moss and her Jamie. Zara had a little cute wedding, a nice dress, etc. pp., even her new husband looked nice in his suit.
But I noticed one thing as I saw something about on TV....

the hats!

It seems to be a new trend. Strangely worn on one side of the head.

Some photos? Here you go.

The bride's hat. And I can't help staring at his nose... sorry Mike!
Kate too, here with flowers underneath instead of... whatever that other material is.
another variation
Kate's hat in a closer view
Beatrice with the water lily out of her little lake
flower outside too. wondering how the hat looks from the other side.
maybe a headband like here?
the price for the funniest "thing" on her head goes to Camilla imo :D
another one sided hat
And here's the hat I've bought (8€ or something like that) to decorate it newly. I still want to alter so much about it.

And here the first load of flowers. Also need blue and yellow ones... and enough so I can cut off some petals...

Have a nice week!

It's done, it's done :D

(In Flames - Deliver Us // a little obsessed now, cause maybe - well, not only maybe - I'll go to their concert :D)

Sorry I didn't have the time for posting yesterday... too tired. I'm still not really well, but I had to work. Hm, work... walking two hours around in the city in a funny costume handing out programmes for the theater wasn't really work, but funny. It was the same costume I wore last time and people again thought I was Capt'n Jack Sparrow ^^
And after that I was in another city nearby spending hours in the city and shopping centre because I had to waste time 'till my dog's hair got cut. Poodle... No choice.
But I've bought a romper (my very first one!) and a skirt on sale there. Photos tomorrow!

Anyway, now, the blue tunic/dress I've drawn some-when is finally finished! Very finished. No spot that doesn't fall well anymore. Proud of myself.

Oh and I've drawn down how I want to decorate a white hat... if I find one that's good enough and cheap :D The ones I saw at H&M were to flabby, another one's brim not broad enough. Nw... not easy to find the perfect hat for this :D
The plan is decorating it with a lace ribbon (light grey or something) and adding flowers on one side, but the interesting part is that I wanna glue only a few petals on the brim and on the inner brim to create an effect like in my drawing.

don't look at the stuff in the background. I was bored :D
And my blouse from Bodyline came! Cute, isn't it? So much lace... Got it for 10€ 2nd hand, but it wasn't even worn.

Oh and I didn't introduce you to my new model: Sisi! That's the bonus I've got for my burda-sub, just about 3 months later...

Alice: Madness Returns!

(Main Theme)

Hey there guys,
since I'm sick (angina, so I have to stay at home, quarantine for me -.-') I'm playing games. Still not through with everything I bought lately (not that hardcore-gamer, I just can't find the time) I HAD to start playing the new Alice game. Yes, the typical Gothic Lolita game :D
Also because of the many dresses you can unlock through the game.
I have to sew some of them, really, they are soooo very beautiful!

Here are the dresses, maids ;)

You're starting the game in reality, so that's what poor Alice is wearing. But I'd like to sew this one too somehow. With a detachable apron, so I can wear it normally. And washed of course, guess if I'd go to a con or something I'll just make it fake-dirty :D

Red crosses mark now the ones I don't wanna sew, question-marks the ones I'd alter.

the character-dresses and most freakin' dress, fleshmaid. Somehow Gaga-inspired :D

gotta sew 'em all!!! Especially the second. Steampunk! ^_^

But first I've gotta sew what I've already planned, so... no time!
Bye meeeeee ~ (too much lucky channel)

Sketches

("Mon amour, mon amie" from 8 femmes)

Just two sketches I made last week (on Friday night I guess, don't remember exactly anymore). I already started sewing the blue one, which is quite simple, but yet tricky, 'cause I don't have enough fabric, so I need to alter it a little. Maybe I need to sew a frill at the end of it. I'll see ;)

I promised myself I'll start the pink skirt just when I've finished the blue. So.. be curious what I'm gonna do with that one. It's a remaining too, one I've seen in my mom's locker. Guess it'll be enough for a cute little Ama-Lolita skirt. Not sure about the exact amount of lace yet, but the hearts will remain, I love 'em somehow ^^

Btw., just watched 8 femmes now... such a great movie! It's a French one, set in the 50's, with the most beautiful female French actresses. The songs in there are so great, the outfits so lovely and the story quite catching. A little Agatha Christie like. The "Who is the murder" game. But still very exciting, though I saw the movie already.
Virginie Ledoyen who was singing that song (love her ensemble)
If you've got the chance and love vintage fashion, watch that movie ;) Catherine Deneuve also was awesome in that movie. Plus the dresses she was wearing!

Have a nice week ;)
